From the Founders

WHY WE'RE BUILDING THIS

We spent a combined four decades in Naval Special Warfare. We led teams. We executed missions. And we transitioned out — and watched friends struggle to do the same.

The cleared community is the most capable, most trusted talent base in the country. But the infrastructure connecting our people to the missions, contracts, and partners that need them was never built for us. It was built for everyone — which means it was built for no one in particular.

Cleared veterans routinely spend months searching for their next role. Small contractors miss opportunities they had every right to win. Defense-tech founders cold-pitch into closed circles. Investors can't find the deal flow they know exists. Program offices can't surface the partners they need.

All of this connective tissue exists today as phone calls, golf courses, and PDFs traded over secure email. The relationships are real. The trust is real. What's missing is the platform to scale it.

Defense Nexus is that platform. Built by operators, for operators. Vetted, cleared, mission-aligned.

If you're part of this community — whether you're transitioning out, running a small shop competing against primes, building the next defense-tech company, or sitting in a program office trying to source the right partner — we're building this for you.

Reach out. Sign up for the beta. Tell us what's broken. We're listening.

The Problem

THE NATIONAL SECURITY ECOSYSTEM IS FRAGMENTED — WE'RE FIXING IT

In 2026, the U.S. defense contracting market exceeds $740 billion and is growing rapidly — yet persistent challenges still delay mission outcomes and cost the nation time, resources, and critical capability.

Cleared Talent Shortages

Hundreds of thousands of vacancies in cyber, AI, special operations, and specialized roles — worsened by clearance delays and private-sector competition pulling talent from the mission.

Procurement Friction

Small contractors and startups struggle with visibility, compliance burdens, teaming complexity, and competing against primes who have the relationships — not always the best capability.

Siloed Information & Partnerships

Professionals, contractors, innovators, investors, academics, and government offices operate in disconnected tools — job boards, government portals, innovation challenges — with no unified, trusted hub.

Slow Collaboration

Manual vetting, opaque opportunity discovery, and fragmented networks hinder faster, smarter, more cost-effective national security work.

These barriers cost time, money, and mission impact at a time of surging threats and rapid modernization demands — AI, autonomy, cyber resilience.

Defense Nexus exists to change that. We're building a security-first platform purpose-built for the cleared national security community — designed to match talent, organizations, and opportunities, surface procurement intelligence, and enable secure collaboration.

A prime could build a version of this. None of them can build the version that matters. An internal prime tool only ever sees that prime's own suppliers, and it biases toward the house — which is exactly what the talent and the small contractors are trying to escape. A multi-stakeholder network only works if every side trusts that no single participant controls the surface. Neutrality isn't our positioning. It's the product.

Platform

THE DEFENSE NEXUS PLATFORM:
COMING 2026

A secure, AI-powered ecosystem hub purpose-built for U.S. national security.

What It Will Enable

  • AI-driven matchmaking across cleared professionals, contractors (primes/subs/startups), investors, academics, and government requirements — based on skills, clearances, strategic fit, and real-time needs.

  • Opportunity discovery — personalized feeds of contracts, jobs, partnerships, events, NatSec news, FAR/DFARS updates, and threat alerts.

  • Procurement acceleration — bid/no-bid engines, proposal tools, Sam.gov integrations, and market trend dashboards.

  • Trusted collaboration — secure messaging, workspaces, clearance-aware workflows, progressive privacy, and mutual opt-in access.

  • Government interface — compliant portal for DoD/IC offices to source vetted partners, conduct market research, and break silos.

Who It's For

  • Transitioning Service Members & Cleared Professionals

Seeking better opportunities and a network that understands their background and clearance.

  • Small-to-Medium Contractors & Defense Startups

Leveling the playing field against larger primes through data, matching, and teaming intelligence.

  • Defense Tech Innovators, Investors, Academics & Think Tanks

Discovering collaborations and opportunities across the full NatSec innovation ecosystem.

  • Government Program & Procurement Offices

Sourcing vetted partners efficiently, conducting market research, and breaking internal silos.

We're starting with the Special Operations community to build early density and network effects — then expanding ecosystem-wide.

NOT ANOTHER JOB BOARD.

This is the connective layer the cleared NatSec ecosystem has been missing — vetted, AI-orchestrated, and mission-aligned.

HOW THE MODEL WORKS

Organizations carry the revenue model. Individuals are never charged for access to the network — profile, matching, and opportunity discovery are permanently free, because the density of vetted cleared talent is what makes the platform worth paying for. Pro exists for individuals who want the intelligence and convenience layer on top: the daily SITREP, analytics, saved-search velocity. It buys depth, not entry. Closed beta members receive Founding Member pricing, locked for life. Price points publish ahead of launch.

BUILT TO CONNECT EVERY CORNER

Defense Nexus serves four interconnected audiences, each with distinct needs the platform addresses through tailored AI engines and mission-specific workflows. We're opening in phases — transitioning talent, small and mid contractors, and defense-tech firms first, because that's where density compounds fastest. Capital, academia, and mission-support organizations follow. Government comes last, deliberately, once the network is worth their while.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Answers sourced directly from the founding team. Clear, direct, and quotable.

Defense Nexus Technologies is an AI-powered matchmaking and collaboration platform built exclusively for the U.S. national security ecosystem. It connects vetted freelancers, prime and sub-contractors, defense tech firms, PEOs, investors, government entities, and other NatSec stakeholders through a secure, intelligence-driven hub. The platform is designed to eliminate the fragmented, relationship-dependent processes that slow down procurement, talent acquisition, and partnership formation across the defense industrial base.

Defense Nexus was co-founded in 2026 by Michael Lore and Mike "BMC" Colletta — both retired U.S. Navy SEAL Master Chiefs with decades of combined Special Operations and defense industry experience. They built Defense Nexus after observing firsthand how fragmented tools, opaque networks, and slow contracting processes were degrading national security outcomes. The platform is their answer to those systemic gaps.

SDVOSB stands for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business — a federal designation administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration for businesses majority-owned and controlled by service-disabled veterans. Defense Nexus is SDVOSB-eligible: both founders are retired Navy SEAL Master Chiefs and service-disabled veterans, and combined veteran ownership sits above the federal threshold. SBA certification is in progress. The designation reflects who built this company and the community it serves.

LinkedIn and ClearanceJobs are general-purpose professional networks. Defense Nexus is purpose-built for the cleared national security ecosystem, using AI matchmaking to surface relevant partners, opportunities, and talent based on clearance levels, mission requirements, and organizational capabilities — not just keyword searches and job titles. It also includes procurement intelligence, secure collaboration tools, and clearance-aware workflows that general networks cannot provide.

A proof of concept is live and a V2 prototype is in active build. We're forming the closed beta now — it opens in late 2026, with public launch to follow in 2027. Closed beta signups are at defensenexus.ai.

Closed beta signups are at defensenexus.ai. The form asks for your name, work email, and mission intent. Every signup is reviewed personally by the founding team. Closed beta members get access when the build ships, and direct input on what gets built before then.

All participants must be vetted U.S. persons.

Defense Nexus is being built with end-to-end encrypted messaging, controlled-access data rooms, and clearance-aware workflows designed to protect sensitive participant information.
